The 2020/21 academic year is nearly complete. Good luck to all students during finals week, and congratulations on the hard work you put in this year. Kudos to faculty and staff who worked hard all year as well, made constant adjustments, and remained focused on supporting student success.

Most of all, congratulations to all of our graduates and the LSC Class of 2021! We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you at the virtual commencement ceremony on Monday. LSC's Spring Open House welcomes dozens of prospective students
Lake Superior College welcomed dozens of prospective students and their families to our beautiful main campus last week for the annual Spring Open House. Visitors toured classrooms and labs, checked out the recent upgrades to campus like Yellow Bike Cafe and Hawks Landing event center and student lounge, and received information tailored to their specific program interests. Thanks to the admissions team and our campus ambassadors for providing a safe, informative and welcoming experience for these prospective IceHawks! Check out the news coverage on CBS 3 and KBJR 6.
Virtual Art Show showcases more than 400 works of art, on display now
The Spring Semester Virtual Art Show is on display now at, where students enrolled in LSC's popular art courses have an opportunity to display their artwork. More than 200 students submitted more than 400 impressive works of art, including digital graphic design, jewelry, digital photography, painting, drawing, watercolor, two- and three-dimensional design projects, and ceramics. Summer textbooks are now available, and can be purchased online with two convenient options: ship to home or free in-store pick-up. More at

Career Exploration Academies and Camps are back, register by June 1
Registration is open for LSC's Career Exploration Academies and Camps 2021, with opportunities for ages 12-18. Students can assemble robots, build computers, weld and more. The camps are free and run four to five days starting June 14. Find details and registration links at
LSC ranked as the Best Online Community College in Minnesota recently ranked Lake Superior College as the Best Community College in Minnesota. Their findings are based on degree programs and offerings (50%), school standards and quality practices (25%), and the "extras" that make college easier (25%).
Sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccine Connector
The State of Minnesota continues to encourage residents to sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccine Connector, a tool to help Minnesotans find when, where, and how to get their COVID-19 vaccine. All state employees, who are Minnesota residents, are encouraged to sign up on the Vaccine Connector. Signing up means you will be alerted when you are eligible for vaccination, connected to resources to schedule an appointment, and provided vaccination opportunities in your area.

Thank you for all you're doing to help stop the spread of COVID-19. While more vaccinations are made available, please know we also continue to see positive cases in our community and must remain vigilant against this virus. Please continue to mask up, wash your hands, keep your distance, get tested, stay home when you're sick, get vaccinated when you're able to and continue to do everything possible to keep yourself and others safe.

  • A textbook buy back event will take place Thursday, May 13. Stop in front of the LSC Store 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to sell your used textbooks.

  • Lake Superior College will recognize more than 800 graduates with a virtual commencement celebration that will be posted on on Monday, May 17. Speakers include LSC Student Senate President Jada Guthrie, Minnesota State Trustee Dawn Erlandson, and Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan.

  • Graduates of the nursing programs will be recognized in a virtual pinning ceremony on Monday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m.

  • LSC is accepting applications for the professional nursing diploma and practical nursing associate of science (AS) through Thursday, May 20 to fill remaining seats in the program. Apply at

  • Lake Superior College will offer Career Exploration Camps and Academies in June for ages 12-18. Choose from Robotics Academy, Welding Camp, Virtual Intro Computer Camp and the new Computer Aided Design/SolidWorks Camp. The deadline to register is June 1, and camps start June 14.   • Summer building hours officially begin on Thursday, May 20. The hours for LSC's main campus will be as follows: Monday-Wednesday, 6:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.; Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.; Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, closed.
