Lake Superior College Welcomes Affinity Plus Credit Union to our Campus Community
Affinity Plus Credit Union held an open house at their new Affinity Plus branch location in the main corridor on LSC's main campus, and a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce and community leaders. Affinity Plus has already been an outstanding community partner with Lake Superior College and the Lake Superior College Foundation, and we're thrilled to have them on our beautiful campus!

Thank you to the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, LSC Foundation Board Chair and Duluth City Councilor Terese Tomanek, Yellow Bike Coffee Cafe, students, faculty, staff, administrators, community partners and everyone else who joined us for the festive ribbon-cutting!

The presentation is part of the Chamber Skills Series, sponsored by Lake Superior College.

An Impressive Week for LSC Athletics
LSC Men's Soccer earned a victory over Minnesota West 3-2 on Sunday. They will host Anoka Ramsey Community College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1.

LSC Women's Soccer will host University of Minnesota Duluth at 8:00 p.m. tonight, and the The College of St. Scholastica at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The LSC Cycling team competed in Kentucky last weekend. The Dual Slalom race was cut short, but all riders' qualifying times from earlier in the day were used to rank the riders. Austin Hudyma placed 5th in Men's B. Tate Smith placed 24th in Men's A. In the Downhill races on Sunday, Tate Smith placed 3rd in the Men's Class A Downhill and Austin Hudyma placed 7th in Men's Class B Downhill. This race had some of the fastest collegiate riders in the country, and our IceHawks were among the best!

The LSC Clay Target team is in 1st place in their division after 2 week. Our IceHawks also have 3 men and 4 women in the top 10. #GoIceHawks
COVID-19 Related Updates
Mask Up and Take the Shot, IceHawks!

Safety remains our highest priority. Masks/face covering continue to be required inside all public spaces on all Lake Superior College campus locations, regardless of vaccination status.

Vaccinations: Minnesota State is following the guidance from the State of Minnesota and Minnesota Department of Health on vaccinations of our students and employees. An all employee email went out on September 8, and is also available on the website.

All state workers, including all LSC employees, must either be fully vaccinated or be tested for COVID every week. Employees are able to find additional information on available vaccines at www.mn.gov/covid19. While students are not currently required to be vaccinated (with exceptions in some programs, including some healthcare programs), we are strongly encouraging all students to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The most effective way we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 and avoid further restrictions as we move forward is to get vaccinated as soon as possible, if you’re not already. For more information on this and how to find a vaccine location, please visit mn.gov/covid19/
