Three students in Lake Superior College's Machine Tech Program, at the downtown campus, were awarded toolboxes from the LSC Foundation. Each toolbox, filled with tools, is worth nearly $2,000 each. This annual tradition is made possible thanks to generous contributions from community and industry partners to the Foundation. Check out the great media coverage on CBS 3, KBJR 6 and Fox 21.

Sign up for the COVID-19 Vaccine Connector
|
|
The State of Minnesota has launched the COVID-19 Vaccine Connector, a new tool to help Minnesotans find when, where, and how to get their COVID-19 vaccine. All state employees, who are Minnesota residents, are encouraged to sign up on the Vaccine Connector. Signing up means you will be alerted when you are eligible for vaccination, connected to resources to schedule an appointment, and provided vaccination opportunities in your area.
When you sign up, the form asks what industry you work in. Higher Education is not explicitly listed as an industry in the drop-down menu. Like most state employees, we are encouraged to select "Other/None" and put "Higher Education" or "Government" in the description box.

You can always stay up to date on the latest COVID-19 related info at lsc.edu/coronavirus. The Minnesota State dashboard is updated weekly and serves as a tool to inform campus communities about changes in COVID-19 cases and community spread.
We hope you have a happy and SAFE spring break. As a reminder, both the CDC and MDH are still recommending that people not travel if they don't have to. However, if you do plan to travel, please be as safe as possible and be aware of the testing and quarantine requirements based on where you are traveling to/returning from, as they may vary, even if traveling domestically.
If you are traveling outside the state, it is strongly encouraged that you get tested before and after your trip. Ideally you would be tested a week before you leave, and then within 5-7 days upon return.
The Minnesota Department of Health suggests the following:
Domestic Travel:
- People visiting or returning from travel out of state are asked to stay away from others (quarantine) for 14 days after they arrive in Minnesota, even people who have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine.
International travel:
- Quarantine for 14 days is preferred by MDH,
- However, if they have no symptoms and no one in their immediate household is positive they can return to campus after 10 days,
- Or, if they test 3 to 5 days after they return AND the test is negative AND there is no one in their immediate household that is positive AND they are not symptomatic, they can return after 7 days.
