Water Quality Program

To learn more about LSM's Water Quality Program, please visit our website.

Water Quality Data Submission

If you haven’t submitted your 2024 data yet, please do so as soon as possible. We’re aiming to digitize everything by the end of October for submission to the Maine DEP. The sooner you can send in your data, the better!

If you plan to continue to collect data, please send it in when you have wrapped up your season.

Your data is crucial to our efforts to protect Maine's lakes. Proofed data will be available on the Lakes of Maine webpage, and unproofed volunteer data can be found on our Water Quality Data Dashboard.

Aquatic Invasive Species Program

To learn more about LSM's Aquatic Invasive Species Program, please visit our website.

For any questions related to IPP workshops, registration, or the aquatic invasive species program, please email stewards@lakestewardsme.org.

"Know Your Plants" Webinars

"Know Your Milfoils" webinar will consider milfoils, a famously tricky to identify group of plants. This program will show how to determine Maine's six native species of milfoil from three invasive species found in the state.

Volunteer Community

This week's community update

There’s no age limit when it comes to caring for Maine’s lakes! At Lake Stewards of Maine, we’re honored to have volunteers of all ages dedicated to preserving our waters.

Meet Roc: "I am a fourteen year old advocate for Torsey Lake. My mom and I have been doing the Secchi disk water quality readings for 3 years. Together, we take our boat out to the station, drop the anchor and measure the water clarity every 2 weeks. My job is to lower the disk itself, while my mom looks through the scope and I read the tape. It’s pretty exciting to be the first to know how much better (or worse) the water clarity may be while helping preserve our lake for my future kids and grandkids to enjoy."

🌊 Thank you, Roc, for inspiring us all to take action!
