Update from Maine DEP

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has released a new memorandum clarifying that hand planting of native vegetation adjacent to certain protected natural resources is considered a de minimis activity under Chapter 310. This means that, in specific circumstances, hand planting does not require a permit.

Please refer to the attached memo for the full details and conditions under which hand planting qualifies as de minimis.
