Clarity for Lakes and Communities: Understanding the Communication Practices and Role Perceptions of Volunteer Lake Monitors.


Following her plenary presentation at the 2026 Lake Conference, Sabrina Koetter, M.S. Candidate at the University of Vermont, invites you to attend her virtual Master's thesis defense exploring the communication practices and role perceptions of volunteer lake monitors.


Many of LSM's water quality monitors participated in Sabrina's research by filling out a survey last summer.

Cyanobacteria Reporting

New Total Phosphorus Requirement


All Total Phosphorus (TP) samples submitted to HETL must arrive at the lab within 48 hours of collection. If samples cannot arrive within that timeframe, they will need to be acidified. Acid is available from HETL upon request.
