April 2025

Dear Melina,

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have met - and surpassed - our $15,000 goal! Raising a total of $15,245.00.

At Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA), we believe that we are called to serve our neighbors, welcome the stranger, and uphold the inherent dignity of every person.

Over the past 100 days, we have faced unprecedented challenges, and our work will likely continue to be tested. But I am deeply heartened by the generous support from our community. Your donations allow our work to remain nimble, innovative, and responsive to the needs of our community.

Together, we will continue to accompany our neighbors - fostering resiliency, self-sufficiency, and access to opportunities – during these uncertain times.

Thank you for renewing hope this spring.

In gratitude,

CEO, LSSNCA

Get Involved

Below are three easy action items to ensure our communities remain committed to welcoming people seeking safety during this difficult time.

  1. Contact your members of Congress to urge them to demand that the administration lift the refugee ban.
  2.  Register to participate in RCUSA’s Advocacy Days in June to build Congressional support for humanitarian programs.  There’s a particular need for residents of Maryland's 1st and 5th Congressional Districts.
  3. Donate to provide newly arrived refugee families with housing, job training, and essentials as they rebuild their lives.
