Dear Friend,
Thank you for helping us close out fiscal year 2025 on a strong note. It’s because of your generosity that Lutheran Social Service of the National Capital Area (LSSNCA) continues to serve our most vulnerable neighbors, including refugee and immigrant families.
As we begin fiscal year 2026, I’m excited to share how LSSNCA is adapting to meet the community’s evolving needs.
LSSNCA has expanded services to meet the moment, including providing Know-Your-Rights presentations and affordable immigration legal services, partnering with food distribution centers, housing stability support, and traditional foster care. All while continuing to provide employment, health navigation, and mentoring to refugees, asylees, and Afghan special immigrant visa (SIV) holders, and foster care to unaccompanied children as they rebuild their lives during uncertain times.
Looking ahead, the Resource Center is working to add a thrift store!
This addition will help sustain current services provided to program participants and community members through the Resource Center, including free essential personal and household items. Stay tuned for more information.
These changes strengthen our mission to serve our neighbors during a time when many community members are deeply affected by federal laws, shifting immigration policies, and economic uncertainty.
Thank you for being part of our mission — and for joining LSSNCA in this new chapter.
