College of Science recognizes 156 during fall commencement ceremony
LSU recognized 1,986 graduates at the university’s 300th commencement exercises on Friday, Dec. 20, the largest fall graduating class ever. The College of Science recognized 156 graduates during its fall diploma ceremony including six University Medalists, LSU's highest honor. Our commencement speaker was Mary Leach Werner, chair of the LSU Board of Supervisors and a director and vice president of The Sweet Lake Land & Oil Company and The North American Land Company.| More
LSU Researchers Among National Geographic's Top 20 Scientific Discoveries of the Last Decade
Three of National Geographic's top 20 discoveries of the last decade featured LSU researchers including two from the College of Science. At the top of the list was the detection of gravitational waves by LIGO. Also making the list: the world's tiniest frog, a discovery by Chris Austin, professor biological sciences and director of the Museum of Natural Sciences, and LSU Geography & Anthropology Juliet Brophy's contribution to the discovery of a new hominin species Homo naledi. | More

LSU Students Conducting Research at CAMD to Improve Medicine

This year the College of Science launched the first edition of Pursuit for Kids, a quarterly newsletter for children in grades K-8. Newsletter features include science games, scientist highlights, and kid-friendly science and math experiences to inspire the next generation of scientists and mathematicians.
