I have been proud to call Tallahassee home since 1991. I came to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University and stayed for love. I truly cannot think of a better place to have raised my family and to ultimately retire. For over 27 years, you could say I had tunnel vision, especially in my professional career. I have been an advocate for older adults and issues that impact their quality of life - it's become my mission and passion. I can tell you about all types of resources and organizations that can help older adults, but honestly, I can't tell you much about Tallahassee outside of my non-profit human services bubble. Well, let me change that up a bit. Before my LT (Class 36) experience, I couldn't tell you much about our great city of Tallahassee.  Now, thorough my LT experience, I am better equipped to share facts with others about what makes our city so great - our impressive law enforcement and first responder network, how important fire is to the Red Hills ecosystem, plans for business growth and development, our outstanding health care network, excellence in education and workforce development and a vast array of arts and culture.

LT Class 36 Closing Retreat
LT Class 36 held their overnight Closing Retreat. Many thanks to the LT Lifetime Members Becky Tolnay (LT 33), Kenneth Pratt (LT 20) & Board Chair and Kathy Bell (LT 19) for facilitating a debrief of each program day experience. Class members continued to discuss the difference between a community trustee and a community leader and commented on how they would contribute to making Tallahassee better as they graduate from LT. The class project of providing support to Sabal Palm Elementary through mentorship and teacher appreciation was organized with all class members being assigned various roles and responsibilities. The class gift exchange and Kickball Tournament provided many hilarious moments and the awards for Class Superlatives proved again why this class is "smarter than your average class!" A huge thank you to LT 36 Curriculum Chair, Khanty Xayabouth (LT 28) for a fun, memorable year!
LT Class 36 Graduation & Annual Meeting
The room was electric as LT Alumni welcomed the newest class of graduates, Leadership Tallahassee Class 36! Tallahassee Chamber President,  Sue Dick (LT 16) , Curriculum Chair,  Khanty Xayabouth (LT 29)  and LT Board Chair,  Kenneth Pratt (LT 20) congratulated each class member and all were celebrated with applause and cheers.  LT Class 30 presented the $2,000 Youth Leadership Award to Christine Oh, YLT 14 grad.

Kenneth then conducted the Annual Meeting where he reported on the past year's accomplishments, thanked the outgoing board and introduced incoming chair, Melissa VanSickle (LT 29) and chair-elect Sha'Ron James (LT 21).
