Updated Underwriting Guidelines
As a result of recent product enhancements, which included the re-classification of risk classes into one "Premier" rate, National Guardian Life has re-aligned some of its underwriting guidelines. Notable changes include the following:
- Family History
- Those who have multiple family members or first degree relatives with a history of Dementia (including Alzheimer's) will no longer be accepted
- Self-Reported Memory Issues
- Those with self-reported perceived declines in memory will not be accepted if the complaint is current or within the past five years
- More Detailed Guidelines for Certain Conditions
- Including high blood pressure, diabetes, osteopenia/osteoporosis, and physical therapy history
