Mutual of Omaha Underwriting Updates

Mutual of Omaha currently requires all applicants, regardless of age, to have completed a physical exam within the past two years. If no exam has been completed, Mutual of Omaha will now offer clients the following two options:

Option 1 (All Applicants)

Applicant can schedule and complete a physical with their physician of choice after the application has been submitted. Please note, since applications are only valid for 90 days, clients must complete their exams and underwriting must receive medical records within that time-frame.

Option 2 (Only for Applicants 59 and Younger)

Mutual of Omaha will provide a paramedical exam and labs at no cost to the client. Please note, this option can only be used by clients for whom medical records are not required (Mutual of Omaha only orders medical records “for cause,” so if records wouldn’t otherwise be required, this option can be exercised).

Stay tuned for an updated underwriting guide reflecting these changes in Q4 2019.
