Marine Electrification Takes Center Stage at Lake Tahoe Electric Transportation Forum

Ollie Danner and Eric Pinzon to Join Industry Leaders Discussing the Future of Electric Boating and Waterfront Electrification

LAKE TAHOE, NV. — The future of clean marine transportation and waterfront electrification will be a key topic at the upcoming Lake Tahoe Electric Transportation Forum on August 20, 2026, where marine electrification leaders Ollie Danner, Founder and CEO of Sea Watts, Charged Marine, and the Zero Emission Marine Accelerator (ZEMA), along with Eric Pinzon, CEO of Electrified Marina, will participate in a featured panel discussion focused on accelerating the transition to electric boating and marine electrification.

As electrification continues to transform transportation sectors across California and Nevada, the marine industry is emerging as one of the most promising opportunities to reduce emissions, improve waterfront experiences, and create new economic opportunities. The panel will explore the technologies, infrastructure, policies, and partnerships needed to support widespread adoption of electric boats and marina charging systems throughout California, Nevada, and the Lake Tahoe region.

In addition to the forum discussions, attendees will have the opportunity to experience the technology firsthand through on water electric boat demonstrations, showcasing the latest advancements in electric propulsion, battery systems, and zero emission boating. Participants will be able to see and experience how electric vessels are delivering quiet, clean, high performance boating while helping protect sensitive waterways such as Lake Tahoe.

Topics will include:

• Electric boat technologies and market trends

• Marina electrification and charging infrastructure deployment

• On water electric boat demonstrations and real world applications

• Opportunities for ports, marinas, and waterfront communities

• Workforce development and industry training needs

• State and local incentives supporting marine electrification

• Lessons learned from electric boat demonstrations and public events across California and Nevada

"Electric boating is no longer a future concept—it is happening today," said Ollie Danner. "From recreational boating and marina operations to commercial and government fleets, we're seeing tremendous momentum. Bringing industry leaders together at forums like this helps accelerate deployment, investment, and public awareness while creating a roadmap for sustainable waterfront transportation."

Forum organizer Kevin McGehee emphasized the importance of including marine transportation in broader electrification conversations.

"Lake Tahoe has long been a leader in environmental stewardship and innovation," said Kevin McGehee, organizer of the Lake Tahoe Electric Transportation Forum. "As electrification expands across transportation sectors, it's critical that we include our lakes, marinas, and waterfront communities in the conversation. We're excited to bring together leaders like Ollie Danner and Eric Pinzon to explore how electric boating can help protect our waterways while creating new economic and recreational opportunities for the region. The addition of on water electric boat demonstrations will give attendees a unique opportunity to experience this technology firsthand and better understand its potential for Lake Tahoe and communities throughout California and Nevada."

The discussion will highlight recent progress in the California and Nevada electric marine ecosystem, including advancements in vessel technology, charging infrastructure, marina modernization, clean energy integration, and public-private partnerships supporting zero-emission transportation.

The Lake Tahoe Electric Transportation Forum brings together policymakers, utilities, transportation leaders, clean energy organizations, technology providers, local governments, marina operators, and community stakeholders to explore innovative solutions that support sustainability, resilience, and economic development throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin.
