Lyons Township High School District 204 seeks to fill the school board seat vacated by the resignation of Board member Julie Swinehart, effective June 1, 2023. The Board must appoint someone to fill Swinehart’s seat until the next election in April 2025. Julie Swinehart was elected to the Board in 2019.
“Julie has been an incredible part of the Board of Education. She has been instrumental in making important decisions to benefit our LT community with a focus on our students first. It has been a privilege to serve with Julie, and she will be missed. On behalf of the entire Board and District, we wish her well,” said President of the Board Dawn Aubert.
Superintendent Dr. Brian Waterman said, “Julie is an advocate for all students. She brought a
straight forward, common sense approach to all Board matters. As a parent of three LT students and an alumnus herself, she brought a wealth of experience and well-rounded perspective. It was a pleasure to work alongside her. On behalf of the LT administration, I thank Julie and wish her family well in the next exciting chapter for her family."
Residents interested in applying for the vacant position must be at least 18-years-old, have lived in
the district for at least one year and be registered to vote.
Candidates interested in applying for the appointment to the Board of Education may download a Candidate Application Packet off the LT website at www.lths.net/BOE or may pick up a packet from Clerk of the Board Marilyn Zydlo in the Superintendent’s Office, North Campus Room 105, 100 S. Brainard Ave., La Grange.
