Frontline Shelter Staff Members - 365 Nights a Year
|
|
The LUM Emergency Shelter provides short-term, overnight shelter, meals, and showers in a safe and caring environment for up to 44 homeless adults each night of the year.
Meet the hardworking and dedicated staff members of the LUM Emergency Shelter (pictured). This small but mighty team make it possible to offer a safe & caring place to one of the most vulnerable populations in our community — individuals experiencing homelessness.
During the LUM Summer of Service, please consider volunteering with the LUM Shelter team as an Overnight Shelter Volunteer. Volunteers are needed 365 nights a year from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. or 8 p.m. to midnight. Four Ways YOU can help the LUM Emergency Shelter are as follows:

The LUM Immigration Clinic depends on a team of highly skilled, trained & accredited volunteers. Led by the LUM Immigration Clinic director, Christian Gallo (paid staff), the volunteer team members are as follows:

Introducing the 5th Quarter Summer Teachers
|

LUM is excited to introduce the dynamic and talented team of teachers for the 5th Quarter Summer Learning Program, p ictured above with Kristi Hogue, LUM youth programs director.
During the LUM Summer of Service, please consider volunteering with the 5th Quarter team as a Teacher’s Aide. Teacher's Aides are needed each weekday (7 a.m.-6 p.m.) to support the LUM director and teachers. Volunteers assist in teaching & tutoring, reading, recreational activities, meals & snacks and more. Teacher's Aides must enjoy working with children and have experience helping children (K – 6th grade) achieve academically and socially. This Summer - Volunteer at LUM Camp
|

Volunteer LUM Camp Counselors Are Needed
|
|
During the LUM Summer of Service, there is no better way to volunteer than being a LUM Camp counselor! Counselors are needed from 11 a.m. Monday, July 26 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 31.
LUM Camp is a week-long, over-night camp program for low-income children from 8 to 10 years old. Volunteer camp counselors must be at least 18 years old, enjoy working with children and be able to spend the entire week at camp.
