LUM Response to COVID-19 & Stay-at-Home Order
LUM Committed to Support Local Families
While the Indiana "stay-at-home order" temporarily disrupts our lives, it will NOT alter LUM's commitment to support local families & children. In fact, because of our mission, Lafayette Urban Ministry is considered an essential business under the order and, as such, will continue to provide vital services to this community.

At the same time, LUM has an obligation to protect the health of our clients, volunteers, and staff.  That’s why, during the COVID-19 threat, LUM has changed the way assistance is delivered. Our ministry remains open however. LUM's response has been as follows:

Thanks to the hard work of LUM staff members and a few volunteers, LUM continues to serve local families as well as individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. But we NEED YOUR HELP . Monetary donations are best, but donations of needed supplies, food pantry items and shelter meals are welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your continued support of our important mission.

Gifts of Kindness to the LUM Emergency Shelter
The LUM  Emergency Shelter  is open with a strict protocols for health & safety. Pictured are three of our dedicated LUM shelter staff members (Dave, Noah & Anna) wearing their new face-masks. These face-masks were made and donated by a "sewing group" which includes Linda Lou Prokopy and is organized by Jada Haughey . Thank you!
Gabrielle Martinez recently celebrated a birthday. She celebrated by going shopping for LUM and donating an amazing amount of supplies that are needed so much and hard to find -- like toilet paper, paper towels, nitrile gloves, coffee, facial tissues, and disinfectant. Happy Birthday, Gabrielle and thank you for your kindness.
