No Library Fines @ OPPL
As of June 1st, anyone who checks out materials at an Oak Park Public Library location will no longer be charged overdue fines on those materials.

That's great news for our tutors and learners. You can now renew a book 5 times which gives you 15 weeks.  Read More
Same Building, New Floor
We will still have office space at 1010 W. Lake Street, but our suite number is changing from 603b to 200.

We've teamed up with Regus Co-working to help us keep an Oak Park presence with fantastic amenities.
Suite Spotte in Forest Park
It might have been "suite enough" to have office space in La Grange, but thanks to Sue Reardon we will also have street-level space in Forest Park on Madison.

Suite Spotte's new location opens this month.
La Grange Conversation Café Update
The Café will be getting a new home! Starting this September, we will meet at the La Grange Public Library at 10 W. Cossitt Avenue, just a couple of blocks south of the Metra station. The Library provides a Keurig and K-cups for sale.

Farewell Lupe Colin
Lupe served as our bilingual information specialist.

She has moved outside of our service area, but we wish her all the best in a new and exciting chapter of life.
We appreciate your support...

Many thanks to the family and friends of Joan Mackinnon for their generous donations. Her children specifically chose our organization to help illuminate Joan's spirit. Everyone who knew Joan would tell you that she "lived to read" and that is exactly what we help people do.

Together, Joan's family and friends raised $1,005 which will begin a new easy-reading collection in her name. Our tutors can use this special collection to inspire a passion for reading with their learners. The Joan Mackinnon Easy Reading Collection will be presented at a celebration later this year.

"After [my first] 9 years, tutoring two couples and 8 individual students, I’m still going strong. What's been my reward? 3 American citizens, 3 students who received better-paying jobs, and one that succeeded in securing a job." --Zeno
