On Wednesday, June 15, our League monitored the Mills Park Tower  Resident Council Election. Five board members were elected out of a field of nine candidates. Of the 194 residents, 64% of them participated in the election. All participants and the staff were appreciative of our time and efforts to run this election. Many thanks to Leslie Lauderdale, Bob Chimis, Candace Enockson, Vicky Rehill, Marge Massarello, and Peggy Kell for their work on the day.

Early Gubernatorial Primary Election voting continues till June 27 at the Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison. Hours are 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Saturday. Sunday hours for June 19 and 26 will be 10:00am-4:00pm. You can also do grace period voter registration during early voting hours, but two pieces of valid identification are required to register.

The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin is hosting a webinar series on the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, a bill that guarantees the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in the nation.

On Wednesday, June 29, at 6:30pm, Patrick Rosenstiel, who is a nationally recognized figure in the world of public affairs, international relations, public relations, and market research, will lead the webinar. During the months of April and May, members of the Voter Service Committee visited businesses, restaurants, and organizations to request that flyers with QR codes for voter registration and mail ballot requests be displayed in their windows. Thanks to Marge Massarello, Tara Joyce, Sheila Elliott, Janet Holden, Joan Petertil, Elan Long, Kathy Perry, and Peggy Kell for pounding the pavement to distribute these flyers.
