Sunday's Day in Our Village was well attended and many women and men stopped at the League booth to find out more about our organization and enter our drawings. The
winners of the drawing were Michelle Records, for the one
year free membership, while Katharine Lippincott and Lisa Amato each won a reusable glass straw.
Approximately 60-70 people left their names and emails because of interest in finding out more about the League, with the possibility of joining.
Everyone was especially interested in the "Shedd the Straw Campaign" that our Environment Committee is working on in partnership with the Shedd Aquarium.
Thanks to our volunteers on the day:Peggy Kell, Mary Haley, Kathy Balk, Linda Bauer, Fran Sampson and Marsha Borders with Marissa Garza and Alyssa Ralston adding consultation and good ideas. Sarah Shirk did demos of the "Watershed Game" to make everyone more aware of where our rainwater goes. Marilyn Cantisano did another wonderful job of registering, then getting everything together for our booth and setting up. Kudos!
Whether we get new members or not(but we certainly hope we do!), the League made itself much more visible in the community.
