How do you like our new Capitol Action Report and Capitol Action Minute

Contacting your legislators makes a difference! Share League  information with your freinds and encourage them to take ACTION, too.

The Texas League is growing! New and renewing groups are being formed around the state. Beaumont, Brazos Valley, and Waco are all working to revitalize their Leagues and new groups are forming in Central Texas and elsewhere.  Many Leagues are experiencing this resurgence of interest in the non-partisan advocacy work of the League. Let's welcome them and their new ideas!

Let's keep the momentum going!

You can make a difference!

Take ACTION on issues important to you with the Capitol Action Report.   The Capitol Action Report is emailed out on Mondays, except the first Monday when you get the LWV-TX Action News!  You will find highlights from the Texas Capitol and  ACTIONS to take on the issues you care about.

The Capitol Action Minute is a weekly League YouTube video highlighting ACTIONS for you to take.  Check it out! Share the Capitol Action Minute videos on Facebook. Encourage your friends to take ACTION, too.

Action at the Capitol!
  • LWV-TX provided 19 testimonies so far and action at the Texas Capitol is just starting. Our 26 Issue Chairs, Capitol Corps volunteers, and student interns are very busy!
  • League members have recorded 142 visits and calls with legislators.
The value of sharing League work on social media.

Just one article posted on LWV-TX Facebook was shared 77 times and had ~ 7000 views on Facebook! The article quoted League testimony on Women's Health provided by Margaret Johnson, one of our volunteer student interns. The  article was also picked up by Time and Redbook online!
