Second Tuesday Returns
Our Second Tuesday discussion group returns on Tuesday, September 13.  Robert Simmons, Manager of Community Resources at the Oak Park Library will be the resource person for the discussion.   As always, the doors open at the Nineteenth Century Association, 178 Forest Ave., Oak Park, at 9:00 am for coffee, with the program starting at 9:30 am.  This program is free and open to the public, so bring a friend!
Fall Kick-off
New, prospective, and current members are invited to the Tuesday, September 20, Fall Kick-off. Featured will be presentations on referendum questions that will be on the November ballot: the elimination on the Cook County Recorder of Deeds office, an update on the failed Redistricting Amendment, and the advisory referendum question from the Oak Park Township Town Hall.  Should be an informative and lively evening.  The doors will open to the Oak Park Township Meeting Room, 130 S. Voter Service
True to our mission, our League has been registering voters over the summer at block parties, at a church, and the Food Pantry.  We are gearing up for high school voter registration and mock elections.  If you know of an organization that is having an event before October 11, let them know that our League would gladly provide Deputy Registrars for voter registration.  Have them contact us at [email protected] or call 708-342-0803.
Our New (draft) Website
Our new website is almost done!  By next week, we will be switching over from our old website to the new one. Get a sneak peak at our new look here.  Please send any feedback to Peggy Kell.
