Dear LSA Parents,
It may be hard to believe but the 1st Trimester is almost half way complete. That means two things:
(1) This Friday we will send home Mid-Trimester Progress Reports and (2) we are opening up an online signup portal on OptionC for scheduling Parent teacher conferences beginning at school on Tuesday, October 15th. Our goal for the first trimester is to have our homeroom Teachers meet with each student's family in conferences if we have not met already.
Open now is the online registration portal on OptoinC to choose a time to meet with your child's teacher(s). The directions to sign up are fairly simple:
- Log onto your optionc account online. [please contact the school if you are experiencing any login issues]
- Click on the flag that is to schedule CONFERENCES.
- Each of your student's names should appear with a drop down box and all the available times for which you may sign up.
- Don't forget to click SAVE and you will be conirmed for a timeslot in real time.
- Then just be on time for your conference and away you go. You can also leave a note to the teacher at the time of registration with some ideas of specific concerns you may have or would like to cover in your conference. Of course, if you need more time to discuss a concern of a delicate nature, a different and possibly fuller meeting time can be determined between yourself and the teacher(s) for a time outside coference time.
Note for PS-5th grades:
Please note that Preschool through 5th grade conferences are scheduled with the available times for each of those homeroom teachers separate from each other. his means that if you signed up for your first grader but you also have a third grader, you would need to sign up with BOTH the first and the third grade teachers separetly. The time slots are first-come-first-served. You can edit your times online if you reister for a time and need to change it later as long asthe timeslot is still available when you log back in.
Note for 6th - 8th grades:
Due to varous homeroom and course types in our Middle School and to make the scheduling manageable and easier than coordinating with 4 Middle School Teachers separetly, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade conferences are all scheduled with Mr. Mickulik as the teacher, however the meeting will be with all 4 middle school teachers. Parents have been asking to have these conferences with all 4 teachers and we are trying to accommodate this important request.
For Every parent:
Your children's teachers have put a lot of time and effort into creating meaningful lessons and you, as parents, have spent a great deal of time working to help your children succeed this trimester. First, as the Principal, I would like to acknoledge the effort of the teaching faculty and you, our Parent-Teachers. Next, I would encourage all parents to take advantage of conference time with your child's teachers to enter into dialogue whose goal is positive outcomes for your childrens' success.
