Read up on our snow removal plans and more!

Say what? The forecast calls for MORE snow? We are monitoring forecasts and you can be assured that our Public Works crews will be ready to go if this storm develops.
Please watch our social media accounts (
Facebook,
Twitter &
Instagram) for updates, including whether a snow emergency is issued.
Here is a summary of our snow removal priorities:
- During a snow event, the City's main streets are constantly plowed.
- These streets are 72nd, 84th, 96th, 108th, Harrison, Giles, West Giles and Portal Rd.
- At the same time, there are two trucks at all times plowing the priority streets in each district. You can view the districts on our website at www.cityoflavista.org/snow.
- Crews will focus on the mains and priority streets until a storm has eased enough for those areas to be consistently clear. When that happens, plows will move to the minor residential streets and parking lots.
- Cul-de-sacs and circles are the last residential streets to be plowed and the folks living in those areas won't see a plow until it has stopped snowing.
