Volunteers encouraged to join in-person return.

Expanded Anímate at Peachtree Aims to Help Students Regain Lost Learning

LaAmistad's Anímate Summer Academy at Peachtree Church kicked off this month. The first to be held at Peachtree, the camp represents LaAmistad's expansion from two annual summer learning programs to three. With students in need of extra support this year, LaAmistad is rising to the challenge.

LaAmistad proudly welcomes the newest members of its Board of Directors: Nicholas . Smith, Brendalee Cranman, and DeShea Brooks.

Brendalee Cranman

A University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Alumna, Brendalee earned her bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Nicholas P. Smith

Nicholas is a Partner at Dame Law P.C. with a significant track record of diverse experience in litigation, business management, and operations and financial management.

DeShea Brooks

Program Director of The Spanish Academy, Brooks opened the total immersion Spanish school in 2001.

Bank of America Charitable Foundation Awards Grant Supporting LaAmistad ESL

LaAmistad received the support of Bank of America this month in the form of grant funds designed to bolster its English for Successful Living program. The award comes amid BofA's recently expanded $1.25B commitment to advance equity and increase economic opportunity in local communities. We are humbled by the recognition and funding we’ve received from Bank of America. Our partnership is crucial as we strive to prepare Latino students and families for success through academic and life-enrichment programs.
