The Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council is currently recruiting two strong advocates to serve on the Advisory Council for Student Behavior and Discipline.

Established in Louisiana law, the Advisory Council for Student Behavior and Discipline provides advice and guidance to the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and the state Department of Education regarding best practices in providing support to public schools in the adoption and implementation of each school's master plan for student behavior and discipline.

Applicants must be one of the following:
  • A parent or guardian of a child with a developmental disability who attends a Louisiana public school; or
  • An individual with a developmental disability under the age of 26 who attended a public high school in Louisiana.
If you or someone you know would be a strong advocate regarding Louisiana's response to behavioral issues in schools, please   apply to be considered to serve on the Advisory Council for Student Behavior and Discipline!

Application deadline is January 20, 2020.
