Issue 6
October 14, 2018
Dear LaGuardia Families,

We hope you and your children had a successful PSAT Day. We heard from Freshmen that the musical presentation was truly enjoyable. Our seniors were picture perfect and the weather cooperated to make Senior Picture Day in Central Park an outstanding success. Here's hoping that our 10th and 11th graders are ecstatic when they receive their PSAT scores but remember that LaG students are beautiful in spirit and talented beyond measure -- qualities that can NEVER be captured in a single score.

Community Building
Thank you to the parents who volunteered to chaperone our wonderful seniors on their Picture Day. Here is a photo of members of the Student Government Organization (SGO). There is a special treat for parents who read to the end of this week's SNN.

Make a contribution to our LaGuardia PA All-School Appeal and make an individual Studio Donation. Donating to both the All-School Appeal and your Studio is crucially important! We know that not every family can make the $500 per student suggested All-School Appeal contribution, but it is vital that every family contribute something. Our goal is 100% participation and whatever you give will be deeply appreciated.

DonorsChoose is a nonprofit organization that allows private individuals to donate to public school classroom projects. LaGuardia teachers post many project requests on DonorsChoose throughout the school year for one simple reason: the NYC Department of Education does not provide many of the materials, technology and other essentials that make LaGuardia great.

In the past three years, 100% of our faculty's requests have been funded by parents and other generous supporters.

DonorsChoose donations are eligible for most employers' matching gift programs.
