A note from the Chair

With this newsletter, you may notice that we are using an updated template in Constant Contact. As a result, it has been a learning curve to negotiate. Because of time constraints and space, the candidate and election information that I hoped to include in this newsletter will be available in a separate newsletter this week. So consider this Part 1 of the September 7 newsletter and Part 2 will be available in a few days.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day 2020 as we begin the countdown to November 3 and the most important Presidential election in our lifetime!

Have you visited the new Floridadems.org website?
Last week the Florida Democratic Party launched its new website that will serve as a critical organizing tool for Democrats in all 67 counties ahead of the 2020 elections. The new website is more user-friendly to help serve the average Floridian, offering new voter education tools, a real time map of Democratic grassroots organizing events throughout Florida, and the ability to register to vote and enroll in vote-by-mail. It also continues to be a meaningful resource to Democratic voters, organizers, and candidates.

Democratic Headquarters, Highlights and Events
Ridin' with Biden
Saturday, September 12, 2:00 PM
Would you like to join the Ridin' with Biden caravan and tour through some of our local neighborhoods this weekend to show your support for our Democratic Candidate for President? If so, you will want to be creative as you decorate your mode of transport - whether a modern or vintage car, truck or motorcycle.

The Ridin' with Biden event is planned for Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 PM. We will meet in the parking lot at the Ponce de Leon Mall, where Belk's Department Store is located, 2131 US 1 South. The caravan will then leave at 2:00 PM and drive to the Shores area. The proposed route is about 18 miles long.

If you wish to stop by Democratic Headquarters to purchase magnets or bumper stickers for your car, do not wait until the day of the event to procure them. The office, located at 71 South Dixie Highway, Suite 6, St. Augustine, FL 32084, is open weekdays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There will not be any campaign items available at the start of the caravan and we will depart promptly at 2:00 PM.

In addition to your "Goodie Bag", an itinerary will be provided for everyone participating prior to beginning our caravan, in the event that traffic lights interrupt the procession.

We encourage you to Be Positive, Smile and
Please do not engage anyone who is negative!

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday and please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

Thanks,

Bob Hellermann (386-689-0595) and Mimi Parker (904-402-2474.
