Carrollton Elementary School students assembled in the hallways to practice for severe weather earlier this week.

CCS holds district-wide safety drill

To support ongoing efforts to ensure school safety, Carrollton City Schools held a system-wide emergency preparedness drill event earlier this week. The drill had three parts — fire drill, severe weather drill, and lockdown drill. Conducting drills is an important part of our school safety plan. 

Sixth grade students from Carrollton Upper Elementary School visited Washington, DC in May on the grade-level good behavior trip. Students enjoyed the National Mall among many other historic sites during their stay. The CCS Education Foundation provided support to send students on the field trip who otherwise could not have afforded it.

Golden Giving celebration to be held at first home football game

The Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation launched its Golden Giving program at the district's back-to-school kickoff celebration earlier this month. Employees were encouraged to join their colleagues and donate to the program in a district-wide contest to encourage employee giving.

CHS AP exam participation continues to climb

A five-year trend shows the number of Carrollton High School Advanced Placement students taking end-of-course AP exams is continuing to increase.

CUES Boosterthon Color Run

Carrollton Upper Elementary School sixth grade students participated in a Boosterthon Color Run yesterday. CUES students are raising money for more playground equipment. So far, they have raised $21,000. To make a donation to help them reach their goal of $30,000 click HERE.

Hands-on learning for CJHS students

Students in the Instrumental Studies class at CJHS "wrapped up" their bass clef unit by putting the mnemonic “Good Burritos Don’t Fall Apart” to the test. Not only do the students feel confident about the letter names in bass clef now, but they are also better burrito makers!
