NEWSLETTER: SEPTEMBER 2019
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS : STRANGER DANGER
If a stranger is visiting your clients, please make sure to check their ID's. There are reports of phony relatives or friends visiting clients, pretending they have business dealings or they came to visit their loved ones. BEWARE, protect your family and clients. Ask for their ID's and identify if that is in fact the same person. DO NOT leave your client alone, not unless you identify the validity of that person. EXERCISE CAUTION AT ALL TIMES.
Thank you

OTHER IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS
FROM QA DEPARTMENT
George Caguioa, BSN, RN
Director of Quality Assurance

As caregivers, you are mandated by CTA to report all adverse events to AICMC in a timely manner:

  1. Verbal report within 24 hours of the occurrence of the adverse event.
  2. Written report within 72 hours following the verbal report.

AICMC is required to submit your adverse reports to CTA and HMO in a timely manner as well, hence your nonsubmittal or delay in submittal cause you and us to violate these rules. Failure on your part to follow these rules may result in the delay of necessary care that the client may need, billing problems, inability to notify HMOs related to services and supplies, and may even subject you to possible legal jeopardy. Your inaction therefore to report adverse events may be construed as a disservice to your client. If your clients are hospitalized, AICMC is unable to make follow-ups, intervene and make recommendations when problems arise, and coordinate with the hospital/skilled nursing facility to facilitate a safe discharge back to the foster home.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES: HOSPICE LOC
If your clients status switches to HOSPICE LOC, please inform us as well as the vendors who currently provide equipment and supplies for your client. When a client is under hospice, ALL supplies and equipment will be provided through Hospice.
