As you know, MLC is richly blessed with modern technology that enhances all of our courses. The screens and monitors provide access to material and methods of presentation that reflect thoughtful, creative use of the blessings of 21st-century equipment. I am grateful to use them in the courses I teach in ancient Greek and German.
But there is also timeless value, especially in language instruction, in using the tried-and-true tool of the board on the wall. Sending students to the board—no longer the chalkboards that many of us knew as students and even teachers, but whiteboards such as you have provided—remains a vital activity in a vibrant classroom. The ready access for the professor from various points in the room is also a convenience both timely and time-saving in instruction. With the two small boards in the front of the room, the new boards on other walls will serve us well. I am confident that our students will make good use of them in class—as will I, as I move about my classroom.
Again, thank you. Your gift, as ever, helps equip and encourage future called workers for the settings in which God will place them to share the gospel of Jesus.
Cordially in Him,
Professor Daniel Balge (foreign language)
