Dear Parents,
We are so close to a new school year! In celebration of the new school year, we will be hosting our annual Open House Meet & Greet on August 26th.
Please note Splash days are still on until the end of this month. We kindly ask all parents to send sunscreen, bug spray, and any other non-prescribed ointments your child may need. The form for these otc products can be found here. We also ask that you do not send your child in open-toed shoes as they are a safety hazard, especially during outdoor activities. We are looking forward to making the most out of this last month of summer!

Gradual Transitions & Enrollments:
We have gradually started transitioning children for fall. All the children that are 2.5 years of age and above at LadyBug Academy 1 will move to LadyBug Academy 2.
All other children will be moved to the next level (based on their age and developmental milestones) by the end of August. This is a good time to potty train your child if he or she has turned 3.
If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the Center Directors.

Behavioral Reports:
At LadyBug Academy, our staff members deeply care about the children and are very passionate about teaching. They also receive regular comprehensive training on classroom management through class observations. However, if there is repetitive challenging behavior displayed by a child that cannot be corrected through positive redirection, Parents will be provided with a Behavioral Report instead of Brightwheel messages.
Behavioral Reports provide formal documentation of communication to parents about their child’s
challenging behavior.
We will make every effort to work with parents to ensure a cooperative and collaborative approach for children having difficulties with behavior. We are here to serve and protect all our children!
Center staff are trained to use a technique called positive redirection to address challenging behavior. However, if a child exhibits uncontrollable or recurring disruptive behavior that cannot be redirected by Center staff, Parents will receive and be asked to sign a Behavioral Report form. If necessary, the
Parent may be asked to immediately pick up the child from school. In any situation that a child poses a physical or emotional threat to the well-being of other children or themselves, they will be isolated immediately, and parents will be required to pick them up.
To see more details about the Behavioral Report, please click here.
A Growing Team:
We are always hiring Teachers at LadyBug Academy. We decide placements for Teachers based on their skills, interests, and experience working with a specific age group. Comprehensive training is provided to new Teachers, and existing Teachers continue to have access to various resources and guidance.
Teachers that have been a part of LadyBug Academy are provided the choice of the classroom they would like to lead. We also like to ensure that Teachers receive the promotions they deserve - whether it is a lead position, or as part of Management. Therefore, you may see different classroom Teachers in the fall. All classroom Teachers will be introduced right before our Open House on August 26th. We appreciate your patience as we determine the best fit for your child's needs for the upcoming school year.

Splash Days!
Our splash days started in July and will continue until the end of this month, weather permitting. Please view our August theme calendar to see when splash days will be held. In order to maintain fairness to all students, we will be spreading splash days out so that everyone gets the opportunity to participate.
You must send your child with a bathing suit, towel, closed toe water shoes, and extra clothes & shoes.
If your child wears a diaper, please make sure you send them in regular diapers, and have the swim diaper sent with your child. They must also be dropped off in a bathing suit.
They cannot participate in water play without these items.
Please make sure to also apply sunscreen on your child each morning before dropping them off. Morning time is very busy at the Center and as children arrive at different times, we do not always have an opportunity to apply sunscreen on them. We want to make sure your child does not get a sun burn while playing outside. We will however, re apply sunscreen on them before afternoon outdoor play time.

Toys & Nap-time Items:
We have a variety of toys in each classroom that children can choose to play with. Toys are also cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis. They are rotated between classrooms so children are not bored with the same toys.
Toys brought from home are not permitted into our Center. If children are seen with toys, we will return them at the door. If the Teachers find toys in their backpacks, we will have to keep them away until pick up time. We will not be responsible for any lost or damaged toys brought from home.
Children may bring one stuffed/nap time soft toy to help them sleep or rest with during nap time. In addition, please only send a small blanket or sleeping bag with corner straps. There's no need to send oversized pillows, blankets or bedding. We can only offer one cubby per child due to limited spaces in the classrooms. If items do not fit in their cubbies, we will have to return them back to you. We appreciate your cooperation regarding this.

LadyBug Academy Infant Program:
Our Infant Program provides the infants an opportunity to explore. Infant Teachers are greatly involved in Circle time, with a focus on social-emotional and language skills through book reading and character imitation. Activities are planned to nurture fine motor skills and physical development for the infants. We also promote gentle play – encouraging the babies to explore their surroundings with their voices, hands, feet, and toes. Nothing brings us more joy than happy babies ready for transitions!
|
Popular Themes & Events:
Picnic & Ice-Cream Truck:
We love to plan fun activities for the children. In celebration of our Backyard and Picnic theme, we had an ice-cream truck at LadyBug Academy 1 & 2. We all indulged on the ice-creams while having a picnic in the playground!
|
Safari:
Children really enjoyed our Safari theme. It allowed them to expand their knowledge on classifying animals. We included a variety of activities and crafts to ensure that different learning strategies are implemented.

Connecting Through Parenthood - The Hartzell Family | |
Greetings from the Hartzell family! Our daughter, Ania, started at LadyBug 1 opening day in 2019, just as she turned one, and is now in her final weeks with Mr. Cooper’s class before heading off to Kindergarten. Her younger siblings, Simone (in Ms. Litzy’s class) and Ty (in Ms. Monica’s Toddler class), joined her at LadyBug 2 along the way.
While Michael and I are on the same page with how we approach parenting (at least for the most part), we come from very different family dynamics. One thing we have in common, and hope to offer our kids, is a childhood spent outdoors. We aim to get outside as a family every day. Sometimes on weekdays it’s only blowing bubbles while we grill dinner or splashing in puddles after getting home from LadyBug. And it isn’t without its fair share of protest, bug bites, and having to carry someone home. But overall, we find that it instantly appeals to their insatiable curiosity and the change of scenery can go a long way in shifting their mood. The nap schedules over the last five years have limited some of the things we’d like to do but slowly we’ve been able to take on more adventurous activities like camping, fishing, and getting out on the water. We are excited to see how our expeditions continue to evolve as the kids grow.
If you would like to share your parenting experience with the LadyBug Academy community, please reach out to Ms. Saima at sjahan@ladybug-academy.com
We are looking forward to hearing about your journey!

Ms. Jordan Kallett
Lead Teacher at LB2
Hello LadyBug Families! My name is Jordan and I’m so excited to be a Lead Teacher at LadyBug Academy 2! I am currently working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted to pursue a career in this field. I love the energy and innocence of the children! My favorite part of working here is the passion for teaching that all Staff members display. They all truly care about these children. LadyBug Academy has also provided me with the opportunity for growth, and I have acquired valuable knowledge in the process. It motivates me to learn more in order to contribute more. In my free time, I love to walk my dog, Maisy, and try new restaurants. It is a pleasure to help and watch your children grow and learn!
