Update from Chamber President, Cheri Mactier
|
The Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that Millie Stirling will fill the position of Executive Director previously held by Mark Drysdale. Millie brings a wealth of experience from her management years at VI Insurance/Waypoint Insurance as well as being actively involved in the community. Millie's enthusiasm and heartfelt commitment to advocate for the Chamber and its members is to be commended. Millie's warm and friendly personality is a welcome addition to the Chamber office and you are encouraged to stop by and say hello!
The Chamber would also like to acknowledge Jacquie Chellew for stepping in and becoming acting Executive Director while we waited for Millie to fill the position. This was a huge undertaking by Jacquie as she was still actively doing her administrative position at the same time. The Chamber and Board of Directors are extremely grateful to Jacquie for all her hard work.

CVRD Regional Referendum
Regional Recreation Funding Services
|
Join the conversation on the new usage-based model for Cowichan Recreation Facilities and vote in October 2022!
This new usage-based funding model for regional recreation services will be administered by the CVRD in partnership with the 4-member municipalities (City of Duncan; Municipality of North Cowichan; Town of Ladysmith; Town of Lake Cowichan) and the Cowichan Sportsplex.
The new funding model will affect every electoral area and municipality differently, but it is felt that this model is the most fair and equitable solution to a decades-old issue of inequity.
