Please Support Lafayette for #GivingTuesday

Tuesday November 29 is Giving Tuesday and it's a great time to make your tax deductible donation to the Lafayette HSA.  The Lafayette HSA supports all the great programs you love about Lafayette plus helps our wonderful teachers, staff and community in so many ways. From paying for arts, music and mindfulness instruction, to special science assemblies, sports uniforms, and school and arts supplies, grants for teachers for professional development to grants for grade level activities like Battle of the Books. Your donation to the HSA goes directly towards making our school such a special place. If you have already given to the HSA this year, thank you so much.  Please consider sharing our donation link with grandparents or family members. If you haven't given yet, it is not too late. We are hoping for 100% participation from Lafayette families for our HSA donation drive. You can find our suggested donation levels here but donations of any size are welcome. Please give today and thank you for your support.

PS - You can also pay your class activity fee while you are making your HSA donation. The class activity fee goes directly to your child's classroom teacher to pay for field trips and special programs for your child's class.  If you haven't paid your fee yet, please do so at your earliest convenience so our teachers can get a sense of what is possible in terms of spring field trips.

books Setting up the Fair this Friday morning and staffing the Fair next week.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Lafayette Monday December 5 through Friday December 9 and we need parent and older students to help us make it a success. You can sign up to volunteer here. We will need volunteers to help set up, break down and staff the fair selling books and helping children shop the fair.

The Scholastic Annual Lafayette Book Fair raises funds for our library to buy books and add to our collection throughout the year. We will sell books in the morning before school starting at 8 AM and then after school until 5:00 PM each day. Classes will also visit the fair throughout the school day during the week. Parents and siblings are welcome to visit the Fair before or after school to shop as well. The fair starts the week of December 5 here at Lafayette but the on-line Scholastic sale started this past Sunday. As you do your on-line shopping this week, check out the selection online here.

Scholastic catalogs and a letter from our Lafayette Librarian Rachel Leese should have come home in your child's backpack this past weekend. We look forward to seeing you next week at the fair and thanks for supporting Lafayette.
