REMINDER - WASH YOUR HANDS!
Parents and Children - it's cold and flu season and the stomach bug is making his way quickly around Lafayette. Now is the time to remind ourselves and our children how important it is to wash our hands several times a day, especially after using the rest room.
Water, SOAP, Rinse - that simple but so important as we keep everyone healthy.
is a letter that was circulated by Nurse Cockrell, but sharing again. Please reach out to her with any questions.

Coming Soon: Jump Rope for Heart!
Thank you to everyone that has turned in their permission slips. For those that haven't done so yet, they are due by February 1
. Please tear the permission slip off from the collection envelope and put it in the JRFH box in the Great Hall. All children must have a permission slip turned in in order to participate. Getting an accurate count is essential in planning for the day, so don't delay.
Thank you to those families choosing to help raise funds for the American Heart Association. All pledges should be turned in by March 2. Envelopes can be turned in to the JRFH box in the Great Hall or to Ms. McClure's mailbox. Please convert any cash into checks made out to The American Heart Association. Online fundraising is our preference for those families that are willing. It eases the burden of paperwork. Just go to their
and sign up, send a few emails and it's done.
All of our "Zoo Crew" days are held on days 2 and 4, 8:20-8:40 a.m. in the Great Hall. Any family that chooses to raise funds and has started to collect may bring the coupon in to collect characters from the Zoo Crew. No money needs to be brought in at this time. came home a couple of weeks ago.

mom to a first and fourth grader, will be leading our Auction solicitation team, running our bidding, and website. Kavita is the mother of a first grader, and is planning our Auction party. Everything from food and drink to music and decoration will be under her purview. Together they have recruited a great committee of volunteers, but they still have several important roles which need to be filled and products and services to be secured. All offers of help are welcome.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED MOST FROM YOU RIGHT NOW:
#1 - COMMITTEE LEADERS FOR DECORATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS - We are looking for a creative genius to lead the Auction Decorating Committee and a witty wordsmith to help us lead Auction Communications. We have lots of our veterans ready and willing to help anyone who wants to step forward but we really need to train the new generation of parents at Lafayette. Please contact Kavita or Sarah if you would like to lead these two critical areas. Our volunteer coordinator Eileen Dombo promises she will have lots of volunteers to help you implement your vision!
#2 - GREAT CATERERS WITH LAFAYETTE TIES
We are sending out an RFP for catering needs and we would love to make sure Lafayette caterers and friends of Lafayette are given the opportunity to submit a bid. Please contact
at with ideas and suggestions.
#3 - DONATIONS FOR THE AUCTION - The Solicitations Team is looking for donations of hotel rooms, airline tickets, sporting events and special event tickets. If you would like to donate cash to help buy these things or have connections in any of these areas, we need your help. Does your firm have box seats at Verizon or NATS Stadium? Let us know. Contact Sarah to help.
We are also looking for folks who may have vacation homes or other special services to donate. Creative out of left field ideas very welcome. Just send us an email.
SPECIAL AUCTION FACT OF THE DAY: Did you know we have close to 20 camps who have donated a week of summer camp or an equivalent service like a birthday party to the Lafayette Auction as a result of the Camp Fair? Look for our special Camp Section on the website or in the catalogue and help fill up your child's summer schedule.
Thanks for supporting the Lafayette Auction!
