SIX SENIORS COMMENDED IN NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP TOP 4%

Six outstanding seniors earned recognition for their achievements in the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP) ranking among the top 4%! The NMSP, an academic contest since 1955, applauds academic excellence and offers scholarships. These students successfully met the prerequisites for the 2024 NMSP after taking the 2022 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Congratulations to Laguna seniors (L to R): Elyse Weaver, Keanu Nakamura, Grace Trautwein, Jake Gidney, Noah Olorin Dehli, and Charlie Sheldon (not pictured).
UPPER SCHOOL ATHLETES VISIT LOWER SCHOOL

On Tuesday, Upper School athletes Eleanor Crafton '25 (volleyball), Jules Leclercq '25 (football), and Dionne Peterson '25 (golf) visited the Lower School campus. They talked about the athletics program and led activities during lunch recess with our youngest Owls. Athletes will return for another visit during Spirit Week. Go Owls!
OUR VERY OWN POWERHOUSE FEMALE THEATRE DIRECTOR

Theatre Instructor & Performing Arts Department Chair Dana Caldwell begins her 10th year at Laguna. She is instrumental in helping Middle Schoolers discover their passion for the stage, and Upper Schoolers experience the joy of performing. Thank you, Dana, for your dedication, enthusiasm, and contagious smile!

GIRLS GOLF EXTEND UNDEFEATED STREAK INTO THIRD SEASON

Girls Golf opened the 2023 season with a resounding victory, echoing their back-to-back Tri-Valley League championships and unbeaten 2021 and 2022 seasons. In their season-opener last Thursday, they triumphed with a score of 262-316 against St. Bonaventure at Olivas Links in Ventura. Despite the roster being only three deep, leaving two scoring positions vacant, senior Jayla Provance and juniors Luz Schubert and Dionne Peterson outshined St. Bonny's five golfers. Their next league match is today 9/28 against Foothill Tech at Santa Barbara Municipal Golf Course.
GIRLS TENNIS DEFEAT PROVIDENCE

Girls tennis opened up its league play with a big win over Providence on Thursday, September 21. Congratulations to Caroline Kenny '25, Danica Damiani '24, Evie Comis '26, Grace Trautwein '24, Lucia Camp '24, Natalie Schweitzer '25, and Siena Wyatt '25. Go Owls!
GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL TEAM WINS SANTA PAULA TOURNAMENT

Congratulations to our Owls who defeated Filmore, Santa Paula, and Pacifica in two sets in pool play to earn a top seed in the playoffs on Saturday, September 23. Shout out to Sarah Woodhouse '24, Danica Rux '25, and Ginger Finney '26!
MARSHALL GRAHAM WINS L.A. JUNIOR OPEN SQUASH TOURNAMENT

Marshall Graham '27 won the BU15 division last weekend at the LA Junior Open Squash Tournament. He won a difficult quarter-final and semi-finals 3-0, then a close final 3-1. This win bumps his national ranking up from his current #95 to #75, enabling him to qualify to play in the US Open in December. Way to go, Marshall!
