IMPORTANT COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE
LESS EMAIL, JUST AS MUCH OWL!
To help streamline communication and reduce the number of emails you receive from Laguna, this past Tuesday, 11/12, was the last time you'll get Owl You Need to Know in your inbox. Starting next week, you can find links to Owl You Need to Know issues at the top of Laguna Links, which will be emailed to you every Wednesday. With everything now in one place, we hope this adjustment makes staying in the know more more efficient and convenient!

MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS SHINE AT FALL CONCERT
Grades 7-12 students amazed us with their talent last week at their Fall Concert! Under the twinkling lights in Ruston Amphitheatre, our gifted Vocal Ensemble, Honors Stage Band, and Pop and Rock Ensemble channeled the spirit of LA's iconic Laurel Canyon music scene from the 60s and 70s. With soulful harmonies and electrifying solos, these performances took our breath away. Bravo to our student musicians for a magical evening!
UPPER SCHOOL STUDENTS CELEBRATE DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS
Last Friday, our Upper School students came together for a Día de los Muertos assembly focused on Cuba, celebrating the life and legacy of Celia Cruz. Students honored her music and impact with dance to her powerful version of "I Will Survive"—a song full of longing for her homeland, family, and friends that she couldn't return to under Fidel Castro's regime. To top off the assembly, everyone enjoyed Pan Dulce.
This Wednesday was one of our favorite days of the year: Senior Dog Day! A huge thank you to all the seniors who shared their cherished companions with the Laguna community. It was a day full of joy, wagging tails, and lots of belly rubs! Congratulations to Bilbo, Ada Green's corgi, for winning the dog parade!
THIRD AND FOURTH GRADERS GOBBLE UP THE TRACK IN ANNUAL TURKEY TROT
Earlier today, third and fourth grade students participated in a festive Turkey Trot on the Hope Ranch campus. Each student completed four laps around the track, totaling one mile. The fastest time clocked in at 7:10, and all participants had their times recorded to track progress for the upcoming May Mile this spring.
Laguna Athletics: Powered by the Laguna Fund!
Thanks to the Laguna Fund, our Athletics Department continues to thrive across all divisions. In the Upper School, our football team, girls' volleyball and girls' tennis team earned CIF-Southern Section postseason berths, with tennis advancing to the semifinals. In Middle School, students enjoy PE three days a week, and this fall both the girls' volleyball teams and the boys' soccer team captured league championships. At the Lower School, students benefit from daily PE classes that keep them active and engaged. As we close out a successful fall season, we look forward to cheering on our Owls in the winter sports ahead!
Every aspect of a Laguna education, including athletics, field trips, technology enhancements, curriculum and professional development, visual and performing arts, facilities, and so much more is made possible by your support of the Laguna Fund.
GO OWLS!

CELEBRATE NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH THROUGH BOOKS
November is Native American Heritage Month! This month provides us with a valuable opportunity to honor and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Native American peoples. In recognizing this month, we acknowledge that we are on the ancestral lands of the Chumash people, who have stewarded these coastal areas from Malibu to San Luis Obispo, including the Channel Islands, for centuries.
A great way to celebrate and acknowledge Native American Heritage Month is by reading literature with Native American representation and learning about some notable people with Native American heritage.
