SCIENCE RESEARCH PROJECT PARTICIPANTS SHINE AT FINAL PRESENTATIONS
On Wednesday, ten talented students presented their research findings in the Science Research Program Final Presentations.

The Science Research Program is an application-based, two-year science elective where Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics converge. Students explore a wide range of disciplines during the sophomore year through a series of speaker talks, presentations, detailed article analyses, research explorations, and field trips. As a junior, each student chooses a specific area of interest and spends the year designing and executing an individual research project under the guidance of a mentor in their field.

Congratulations to the following students for their dedication and hard work!

SENIOR PROJECTS ARE NEXT WEEK!
MONDAY, JUNE 13 (3 - 5:30PM)
TUESDAY, JUNE 14 (9 - 11:30AM)

The purpose of senior projects is for the student to depart from the conventional school day and to broaden their learning experiences outside the classroom. Students have two weeks to focus on furthering the pursuit of an interest they may already have, or gain hands-on experiences in new areas of interests.

At the culmination of the project, students deliver formal presentations. We hope you can join us in Spaulding Theatre to support the Class of 2022!
SENIORS ORGANIZE PANCAKE POP-UP PARTY
Our super-spirited seniors organized a delicious pancake breakfast for faculty and students in the parking lot this morning. Lots of chocolate chips and whipped cream were dished out to hungry Owls. We love our soon-to-be graduates!
BRINGING SCIENCE & HISTORY TO LIFE ON STAGE
Last week, fifth graders combined STEM, history, and drama to demonstrate their understanding of their science and history units. Using their wild imaginations, they wrote original scripts in historical settings, incorporating science elements that caused a problem or solved a problem. These whimsical scenes were shared with parents in Spaulding Theatre and ended with a celebratory taco lunch.
CERAMICS STUDENTS ENJOY SUSHI LUNCH
Earlier this week, ceramics students in Mr. Shertzer and Ms. Ballenger’s classes used the sushi platters, soy sauce dishes, and chopstick holders that they made in the classroom studio for a delicious sushi treat!
ENGINEERING STUDENTS CATAPULT INTO LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
The Upper School Introduction to Engineering class launched their catapults today and were also able to play with some Lower School students who were on campus. The Lower Schoolers judged the catapults based on the most creative design and accuracy.
SIXTH GRADE SPRING BAND PERFORMANCES ROCK!
Earlier today, sixth graders showcased their musical skills in their end-of-year performance. A wide range of songs was performed, including "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles, "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars, and "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. Congratulations, Sixth Grade!
SEVENTH GRADE HOLDS MODEL UN SUMMIT
Seventh graders have been working on a large-scale project--their Model United Nations Summit--as part of this quarter's "speaking out" theme. Teams of students were assigned a country, and each group presented their country's current event issues, tying directly into the United Nations 17 Goals for Sustainable Development. Students learned research, public speaking, and writing skills, as well as statistical analysis while discussing real-world issues currently in the news.

Way to go, seventh grade!

Lower School students had so much fun ending the school year with Field Day on Wednesday! Special thanks to Lower School PE Coach Ray Robitaille for leading this exciting end-of-year event.
A CELEBRATORY ENDING AT THE LOWER SCHOOL CLOSING CEREMONY
It was a beautiful morning to close the Lower School chapter of these fourth graders' academic careers and celebrate what's to come! Fourth grade teacher Ms. Richter embraced this year's candy theme by using candy metaphors to describe each student. This sweet class will surely be missed on the Lower School campus next year, but we look forward to seeing many of them on our Hope Ranch campus in the fall. Stay tuned for our upcoming Celebration Issue of Laguna Links for more ceremony photos!
UPPER SCHOOL ATHLETICS AWARDS BANQUET CELEBRATES OWL PRIDE
The Upper School Athletics Banquet was held this past Saturday with a great turnout, a delicious meal, and lots of Owl pride! Congratulations to all student-athletes, especially our seniors, on a tremendous year for Laguna Athletics! And thank you to the Family Association for their indispensable role in making this event a success.

Special appreciation goes to Jane Weaver for prep work, Sherry & Shawn Hlavaty and Amy Pryor for an amazing job on decor, and Alex Popovich and Ceci McClintock for the tasty BBQ.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR COACHES OF THE YEAR!
On the heels of a spectacular boys varsity volleyball season, congratulations to Jason Donnelly on being named Tri-Valley League Coach of the Year. After an undefeated league season, an 18-5 overall record, and a CIF-Southern Section Division 3 semifinal appearance, Jason adds this to a long list of accolades and accomplishments – which includes leading the girls varsity program to two CIF-Southern Section championships and a state runner-up finish.

Congratulations also to Dr. Valerie Yoshimura on being recognized as the Tri-Valley League Coach of the Year for girls golf. Dr. Yoshimura stepped up in this inaugural year of girls golf to lead a young and talented team to an undefeated season in league play and sixth place finish in the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 championship tournament.
