We've reached the end of the 2020-2021 Rotary year! Congratulations to President Tom Tochterman for a very good one, "despite it all."

Please enjoy, learn and be inspired by this week's Lake Views newsletter from the Rotary Club of Lake Chelan. We are proud of the community and international service we have provided since 1926 to the Lake Chelan region.

Hybrid meetings are held at Sorrento's Ristorante at noon each Tuesday, with the option of joining on Zoom. The business portion of the meeting will start at noon, but please join us anytime starting at 11:30 a.m. See Zoom login details below.

Satellite meetings: On the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month we meet at Ancestry Cellars in Manson at 5 p.m., and on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month we meet at The Vogue in downtown Chelan at 7 a.m. All are welcome to join any of our meetings.

Lake Chelan Rotary Club Board meetings are held on Zoom at 4 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, and Fund Board meetings are held at 4 p.m. on the third Monday of each month.

Kindergarten Buildings at Kisiriri Complete
Take a look at the before and after photos of the three new classrooms that AfricaWaterBank has just completed building on behalf of the Lake Chelan Rotary Club at the Kisiriri Primary School in Kenya. But this Brighter Futures project is not finished yet! Watch for progress soon on the new desks for students and a vibrant color scheme. On the outside, rain gutters and a 10,000 liter water tank with a nano filter for clean pure water will follow. Lake Chelan Rotary is making a big impact with our International Service projects thanks to generous community donors.
911 Glass Rescue Pulverizer Assembled and Ready to Crush Soon
Dave Spencer, Andela Products Supervisor, was on site in Chelan this past week to work with the 911 Glass Rescue team to set up the new glass pulverizer. It is now installed at the glass repurposing/recycling center and getting ready for final touches before July operations begin. A big thank you to Julie McCoy and the team of volunteers who worked in very warm temperatures to get this accomplished.

Go to https://911glassrescue.org/ to learn more and access the volunteer sign up sheet. Your time and glass is welcomed!
Book Buddies Volunteers Needed - Sign up by July 1
A great new Rotary program is in the works to serve our local elementary school youth, and volunteers are needed! Volunteer commitment involves signing up for 1 hour a month from November through May. The program intends to help instill a love of reading in students, promote reading at home, and promote the basic philosophy of Rotary and the Four-Way Test.

Please contact Rotarian Valerie Rohrich at vrohrich@gmail.com or 970-620-1611 no later than July 1st if you can help.
Happy Birthday wishes to the following club members this month!

Russ Jones - June 7
Lester Cooper - June 13
Susie Hepner - June 14
Don Lloyd - June 16
Micheal Steele - June 16
Cindy Buboltz - June 29

And a very happy wedding month to Kim Dunbar, who will marry Nathan Wall on June 26!

Club dues invoices were sent via email to all members in early May and are now considered past due. If you have not seen your invoice, please contact Dan Hodge to let him know. Dues for the 2021-2022 Rotary year remain at $275, with the option of an additional $75 as a donation to the Rotary Foundation. Our club will continue the tradition of matching an additional $25 for each member donating the $75, resulting in a $100 donation to EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year).

A credit card payment option is available for a $10 processing fee. If you would like to pay your invoice by credit card, please respond to the invoice email and a revised invoice including the fee will be sent.
