A Message from Pastor Loida
Greetings Lake Deaton Family,

This weekend is a special time for Lake Deaton.

First, we will be celebrating Pentecost, which is the birthday of the Church and when Christ sent the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Second, we are going into the week where one year ago, New Covenant UMC voted to launch Lake Deaton as a new congregation––so we are also celebrating the birthday of Lake Deaton United Methodist Church.

Third, we are celebrating the first Sunday when we don’t have to wear masks in over a year.

With all these exciting things happening on the same weekend, I believe we are called to have an extra special time of worship this weekend! And, this becomes a great weekend to invite a friend to come and visit our church as we enter into this new season.

So, I encourage you to wear red this weekend! Red shirts, red hats or red socks!!! Also, invite one friend that is not plugged into a church and invite them to come as your guest this weekend!

Volunteers Needed!!

In this conference, we’ll hear world-class speakers and leaders address these topics and more as we seek to live abundantly in the second half of life.

Stop by the church office for more information or to pick up a registration form. Cost is $580-$622 for a single or $814-$842 for a double, price includes hotel, 8 meals and all programing.

Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations
Study Guide collection now available!

Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the study of the Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations. Some people are doing the study individually and many are participating in small group discussions.

The Re-Vision Team knows your input will be VERY HELPFUL as we move into our time of discernment and the development of a proposed Vision & Mission Statement for Lake Deaton, our Core Values/Practices, and some strategic goals for the future.

Pease bring your Study Guide to church once your study has been concluded (or you can scan and email it to us). There is a BOX on the counter by the CONNECT sign on your right as you are entering the Christian Life Center for worship. While all the answers and questions are important, please submit whatever you have completed. It is anonymous so no signature is necessary. Even if you have one- or two-word answers, everything is helpful, and we hope you will complete and return your Study Guide after the last chapter!
