Lewis McNeel, AIA has been promoted to Associate Partner. Lewis is a passionate collaborator and cross-pollinator. He strives to create extraordinary community places that bridge cultures, solve problems inclusively and connect people to nature. After earning degrees from the University of Virginia he worked in East Africa designing climate-responsive schools for international relief organizations. At Lake|Flato, Lewis leads the design of high- performing institutional, civic and hospitality facilities and master plans exhibiting a strong fusion of inventive rigor, connection to context and data-driven performance. His recent work includes the Hardberger Park Urban Ecology Center in Texas, the Park City Arts and Culture District in Utah and Knox College’s Whitcomb Art Center in Illinois. He also directs Lake|Flato’s pro bono studio providing equitable access to architectural services.
Adrianna Swindle, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate Partner. Adrianna is an exceptionally strong team leader with a comprehensive understanding of deeply complex projects. Her project experience is focused on innovative workspace design, community engagement and branding through architecture. She has worked on large-scale projects throughout the region and is passionate about understanding the natural and built environment’s ability to affect human health and behavior. Adrianna also places great value on community involvement and representation, and has served in several leadership positions in San Antonio. She co-founded the AIA San Antonio Chapter Latinos in Architecture committee in 2014, which was the 2020 recipient of the AIA National Diversity Recognition Program. Adrianna currently serves as AIA San Antonio Board President 2021, and is an active member of the UTSA Department of Architecture Advocacy and Advisory Council. In 2017 she was recognized with the honor of Distinguished Alumni by UTSA College of Architecture, Construction and Planning. Her significant projects include H-E-B’s new tech hub, Security Service’s headquarters and the Austin Central Library.
Ryan Yaden, AIA, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate Partner. Ryan’s childhood surrounded by the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest deeply influenced his approach to design. His passion for place-based structures with an emphasis on the natural environment has fueled a desire to connect architecture more profoundly to the world around it. As a leader within the firm’s Higher Education studio, he leverages his aptitude for finding elegant solutions to complex problems on some of the firm’s most aspirational projects, including STEM lab buildings, student centers, student housing and learning facilities for Cornell University, Georgia Tech, the University of Denver and the University of Texas at Austin. Ryan is recognized for his expertise in Mass Timber and low embodied carbon buildings, spearheads Lake|Flato’s annual nonprofit and pro bono efforts, and actively contributes to the firm’s Research + Design Committee. Prior to joining Lake|Flato, Ryan was a recipient of the prestigious Rotch Scholarship, where he studied threatened forms of cultural heritage in Asia.
