A Message from Lake Forest II
The first few days of the “soft opening” of the upper tennis and pickleball courts has been largely well received. The Board of Directors met Wednesday night to evaluate usage, procedure, and amend the emergency rules first adopted May 6, 2020. As crowding has not been an issue, and based on member feedback, the Board voted to allow doubles play for both pickleball and tennis. Also, now during Open Play hours no reservation is required for pickleball, although a maximum capacity has been established for the safety of LFII members. Open Play is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., and Monday and Wednesday between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Reservations can now be made for the upper courts 72 hours in advance. You can find more information and an updated copy of the rules by clicking here

And now we have some bad news. On Wednesday, the Board of Directors had approved the opening of the Lap Pool for active use. Staff was moving forward with preparing for the reopening when we received word that per the order of the Governor regarding swimming pools, Orange County Health Department is unable to allow us to open our pools. The Board is preparing a letter to the State in support of opening our pools with safety procedures in place, but as of the time I am sending this email we are unable to open until allowed to do so by the Health Department under the State order. I think it goes without saying that this is out of our hands, and the Board is extremely disappointed with this turn of events. Click here to see the State order with county-by-county specific information.

Staff is available to help you by phone, email, or appointment. The Community Services Department is open for MAC applications, CC&R enforcement and questions, and neighborhood concerns. The Accounting Department is available for assessment-related questions, membership cards, and escrow and refinance paperwork. The Communication Coordinator is developing a mini-Mainsheet with information you might find helpful. The Front Desk is available by phone to answer questions. The Maintenance Department is continuing their work in the community and is preparing the Clubhouse for the gradual reopening.

A special thank you to homeowner Connie Silvers for sending us the pictures at the top of this email. The Sun & Sail Club looked very different in 1979!

Stay well and take care,
