DECA Recognizes Outstanding School-Based Enterprises
The School-Based Enterprise at Badger High School was among 391 school-based enterprises in the United States achieving Gold Level Re-certification this year and will be recognized at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The students who worked on the certification were seniors Charley Giese and Jackie Carper with the assistance of their advisor, Phil Huff. The school-based enterprise at Badger has operated for 19 years and is to be commended for this achievement. This is the 8th consecutive year that Bucky’s Den has earned this recognition.

February 26th - March 2nd the Lake Geneva Elementary Schools celebrated Read Across America Week - Dr. Seuss Week! Each day students and staff were encouraged to participate special activities and dress-up days.

Badger Marketing Students
Earn Certification
The students in the senior level Advanced Marketing (AM) course at Badger High School have been preparing to take the Customer Service and Sales certification for the past two weeks in class. Though the test is given in Advanced Marketing, through courses over the past two years, students have been preparing by taking the pre-requisites, Marketing I & II classes. This course sequence allowed them to prepare for the content standards of learning about products/services, assessing and meeting customer needs, and educating customers.

LGMS Science Students Study Systems of the Body
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and the LGMS science classes have been making connections with real-world experiences by learning about the systems of the body. Students are seeing firsthand how the body is a system of interacting subsystems. They have been working through lab stations to learn about the body systems using models to help support their learning. This week, the students are looking at a sheep brain and a deer heart.

CESA 2 Regional Spelling Bee
Grace Rasch and Crete Slattery - both 7th graders at Lake Geneva Middle School - represented Lake Geneva Schools and participated in the CESA 2 Regional Spelling Bee on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Whitewater High School. Of the 35 participants, Grace finished in 19th and Crete finished in 14th place, missing on the words
autobahn and omnibus respectively. Congratulations to both of them on their efforts!

LGMS Rock Club
LGMS Rocks Club began at Lake Geneva Middle School with the sole purpose of spreading joy, kindness, and a sense of community through creativity and was inspired by the various “Rocks” Facebook Groups. The goal is to design rocks with words of kindness and then hide them in various locations in Lake Geneva to bring joy to the finder. It is one way that LGMS is trying to reach out to the community. Students learn how to use their technology as a tool to find inspirational ideas, post pictures of the hidden rocks...
