Generac Donates Engines to Badger High School
Generac Power Systems, a global manufacturer of power products and solutions with its headquarters in southeastern Wisconsin, donated ten gas 5.5 horse-power manual throttle engines to Badger High School in Lake Geneva. The engines will be used in the automotive skills program at the school.
“Students are able to learn how engines work by taking them apart and reassembling them,” said Tom Sheeley, Technology Education Teacher at Badger High School. “These Generac engines are critical tools that we need for learning.”
The donation is part of Generac’s overall commitment to education and STEM skill development.
“Our team in Jefferson, Wisconsin uses engines like these to build our generators and responded immediately to the request from the school,” said Kelly Skindzelewski, Community Programs Manager at Generac. “Supporting education is an important way we participate in our community. We want to be part of inspiring the next generation of innovators and inventors.”
“Badger High School would like to thank Generac for their generous donation,” said Jennifer Straus, Principal at Badger High School. “These engines will help to provide hands-on training to our Automotive Academy students and enhance their learning experience.”
Badger’s Automotive Academy is fully transcripted with Gateway Technical College giving students up to 10 college credits. “The engines will be put to use right away,” said Straus. “We are grateful to Generac for their partnership with Badger.”

LGMS SOUL Club
Dollar Dash Fundraiser
As a result of the Lake Geneva Middle School SOUL Club's Dollar Dash fundraiser, treats were delivered to Lakeland Aurora Hospital workers recently. The night shift workers were able to enjoy donuts, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, and flowers thanks to the LGMS students. Delavan Piggly Wiggly delivered all of the prepackaged treats for the hospital staff to enjoy.
One of the workers shared these pictures and said, "Everybody absolutely loved the treats! They were all so touched to think that middle school students were so thoughtful! The veggies and cheese were a huge hit! Everyone was so happy! Thank you again so much!"
Excellent job, LGMS! We were able to brighten the day for these hard workers!

Star Center Elementary School
Students in Mrs. Koepke’s 4K classes spent two weeks in March learning about Zoo animals. To celebrate, the students enjoyed going on a “Zoo trip” within the school. They talked about what they would bring or carry on a zoo trip, including sunscreen, binoculars, a hat, and a zoo passport. Students sang songs and listened to the story “Curious George Goes to the Zoo” and enjoyed a fun zoo snack.

Face Coverings
The Lake Geneva Schools (Lake Geneva Jt.#1 and Badger) will continue to require face coverings for all students and staff in grades 4K-12 until further notice. This is consistent with school board action taken to reopen our schools and is not dependent on legislative action.
Recent recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) have changed social distancing requirements from six feet to three feet WITH FACE COVERINGS. This change will allow us to keep more kids in school because of fewer being deemed "close contacts". But, this can only happen if face coverings are worn.
We will continue to require face coverings until further notice and look forward to returning to a more normal educational environment as soon as possible.
