Our next Blood Drive is on July 21st.

We begin sign up for our 3rd Blood Drive of 2013 on Sunday the 7th, and will re-circulate the clipboards on the 14th.

Your donation is especially important because attendance is lower during the summer and the need for blood remains high.

If you have questions about the drive, please contact Jim Lane at lanji01@verizon.net.

Help The New Room Community Church Welcome Newcomers to the Neighborhood

Across Whitehurst from The New Room is Summerhill Apartments. To welcome new residents to Lake Highlands' Skillman Crossing neighborhood and invite them to worship with us, we're creating 25 welcome bags for Summerhill managers to distribute during August.

We need 25 each of new, unopened, travel-size toiletries, including: soap, shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, snacks (single serving - such as power bars, pretzels, nuts or packaged peanut butter crackers) Deliver items to A114 by July 15. We'll assemble the bags at The New Room for delivery next month. Thank you for helping us welcome new families to our community.
Make the Bread Connection
Bread Ministry
Bread Ministry

Countless people are blessed through LHUMC's Bread Connection ministry. For years, its faithful team members daily have picked up bread and other perishables - food otherwise destined for a dumpster -- from nearby Kroger and the Lake Highlands Super Target.

Depending on the day, these goods ultimately find their way to hungry people through Community Ministries' Audelia Manor Fellowship and New Room Community Church, Network of Community Ministries or Austin Street Center.

Currently, the Bread Connection team needs help with  pick-up at Super Target and Kroger.
