Things to look forward to

Here at the LLCD office we have big plans for wintertime work. Here are a few projects we'll be working on...

  • New signage in the park
  • Beach expansion (!!!)
  • Online payment options
  • New fishing tournament system
  • New park brochures
  • Music in the park
  • Food truck days
  • Polar Plunge (???)
  • ...and more!

Do you have any ideas for events and activities you'd like to see on the lake and at Riddle Point Park? We'd love to hear! You can shoot Jess an email here.

We still have winter boat storage availability. Please reach out to schedule a time for drop-off. The fee for storage is only $200.

Lake Manager's Corner

As lake recreation season comes to an end, I would like to commend everyone on a safe summer. While activity will halt on the water, the LLCD staff will continue our diligent efforts to develop and implement needed strategies to enhance the benefits provided by the district. This year we have undertaken monumental steps to mitigate the effects of sedimentation on Lake Lemon. The hydraulic dredging project is in full swing and the settling pond on LLCD land is working better than expected.

As a result of nearly two years with online meetings, we have successfully adapted to the digital age and have high quality recordings of our meetings online. If you have been unable to join us in person at board meetings you can stay informed and view our meetings on the Lake Lemon Website or the Lake Lemon Conservancy YouTube Page. Beginning November first, LLCD winter office hours will be by appointment only. If you need to meet in person, please call or email to set up a time.

A pleasure to serve,

Beach Expansion or Archaeological Dig...?

This week we began work on expanding the Riddle Point Park beach to the west. During excavation the crew uncovered a side notched arrowhead along with a bit of flint with signs of knapping. While I am not an expert, some quick research shows it appears to be made from flint ridge chert in a Kessell shape. It's a great reminder that this area holds abundant natural and Native American history.

Click below and visit our Facebook page to see more photos of the beach expansion. We couldn't be more thrilled with this expansion, which almost doubles our sandy beach. Beachgoers now have a completely new view of the lake while swimming and sunbathing!
