Hydraulic Dredging Update

Drumroll please... Hydraulic dredge is on the water and construction is underway!

Please be aware and careful when you are boating in these areas. You'll see large anchored barges and a cable system on which everything operates.

Wanna see a short, neat video? Check it out HERE and see a fast time-lapse of the barge being loaded into the lake.

Recreation Season Has Arrived

Winter has passed and thankfully it's time move back into lake boating mode. We have a few reminders for you...

** Don't forget your lifejackets.

** Make sure you have a spotter as needed.

** Jet skis - You must be 16 years old to operate a jet ski. The only exception is if you are 15 and have confirmation of a boater safety course (like THIS).

Please take a couple of minutes and review the boating rules and regulations to which you agree as you enjoy our beautiful lake.

Aquatic Vegetation Monitoring

As the lake water temperatures rise, you will start to see submerged aquatic vegetation growing. We will be out this month doing inspections. If you have a particularly troublesome area, we'd like to know.

Please click the button below to email our Operations Supervisor, Ross, and let him know your specific issues.

The Downlow on Waking Up

Wakeboarding _1_.png

As we begin to see an increase in the presence of wake boats and wakeboarding/surfing on Lake Lemon, the impacts are becoming more prevalent. The wave height and energy from these vessels increases shoreline erosion and sediment resuspension. The LLCD is paying very close attention to current ongoing research and the types of restrictions on these vessels and activities that are being implemented nationwide. Please do your part to minimize environmental impacts and safety concerns of your wake boats.

  1. Refrain from filling ballast to maximum capacity and do not use additional ballast items (i.e. “fat sacs”).
  2. Limit wake surfing and wakeboarding to the middle sections of the widest parts of the lake.
  3. Operate your boat in normal unballasted cruising conditions or no-wake conditions within the narrow sections of the lake.
  4. Stay at least 100 yards (a football field length) away from any shoreline, dock, fixed objects or small craft.
  5. Do not wake surf or wakeboard under low light conditions (dusk, dawn or night) when wakes are less visible to others.
  6. Do not use on-board ballast when cruising or waterskiing, make sure to empty ballast while cruising or waterskiing.

We encourage you to take a peek at the Lake Lemon fishing and boating codes of conduct below. A refresher is always a great idea!
