The Village will begin trapping muskrats on Lake Marion Monday, April 14th through Friday, April 18th. The traps used are intended to be submerged in a vertical fashion and provide little to no risk for pets to step on. The lake will be marked with "Traps in Area" signs for your awareness. Please exercise caution with your pets near the lake during this time period.
If the muskrat population is left uncontrolled, significant damage from their large burrows can cause a safety issue for pedestrians and will destroy the liner which jeopardizes our ability to maintain proper water level.
