Thank you to all of our "Face-to-Face" Knights, their families, teachers, and staff for the outstanding efforts over the past six school days as many of our Knights returned to campus. We have instituted a number of new health and safety procedures and I greatly appreciated everyone's cooperation.

Please note that due to our "new normalcy" we will not be hosting any perfect attendance awards this year as it will be difficult to ensure accuracy with our new program. We also want to emphasize safety and health, so that if students are not feeling well parents can take care of the students by keeping them home.

Best wishes for a successful week ahead and please remember to practice all recommended health safety practices when you are out and about in public this week.

With Knight Pride,

Dr. Stephanie R. Jackson, Ed.D.
Principal
Lake Nona Middle School

OCPS Announcements

We want to let you know the school board updated their face covering policy. The changes include additional requirements for a medical waiver allowing for a face mask exemption and prohibiting masks with a respirator valve, as well as neck gaiters and neck buffs as face coverings.

District officials also announced to the school board that fall sports will return to tryouts and practice on August 31 and competitions as early as September 14 for most fall sports. Football will return Friday, September 17.

And finally, as a reminder, please do not send your children to school when they are not feeling well or if someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 or you have symptoms and are waiting on the results of a test.

Thank you for helping us keep our community and our children safe.

Virtual Club Rush

Online education isn't just a solitary pursuit anymore. Now our students have many opportunities to explore interests outside their classes and meet other students at Lake Nona Middle School through virtual and some F2F clubs. Hundreds of LNMS students have the opportunity to "virtually" participate in clubs that range from art, crochet, chess, robotics, table top, French and Spanish Honor Societies and many more.

We are now in the process  of organizing a virtual Club Rush! We will debut our list of club opportunities in September with information about each club.

Attention Parents!

P.E. WORKOUTS

Last week, our P.E. Department had the pleasure of working out with our Principal, Dr. Stephanie Jackson, Assistant Principal Mr. Damian Rosado, and Lake Nona Middle's 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year Ms. Alfonzo-Reyes. They had a great time! Everyone was up and moving early in the morning, sweating and getting ready for a day's work. If you want to check out the videos, and maybe try the workouts yourself, you are welcome to access the videos below:
