Important Testing This Week
This week brings the state FSA testing. On Monday and Tuesday students will be taking the Reading portion of the FSA. Later in the week, all math classes will be testing, whether it be 6/7/8th Math, Algebra, or Geometry.

Due to this testing, bell schedules have been adjusted to allow for the testing time block. The bell schedules for the week are found below, as well as a schedule for the month of May which encompasses all testing. We ask that you remind your student the evening before testing to charge their computers fully, get a good night’s sleep, and give their full dedication to the test that particular day.
Monthly Faculty Recognitions
April faculty and staff recognitions were this past week at the monthly faculty meeting. Congratulations to our Knight faculty and staff members for being recognized as the cream of the crop!
Teacher of the Month- Coach Dustin Nuckels
New Knight of the Month- Mrs. Kara Reddmann
Support Person of the Month- Ms. Amanda Pinati
Team of the Month- Reading Department
Curriculum: "Project Lead The Way"
Students in Dr. Strawser’s PLTW classes were able to do a dissection this past week - brains! Sheep brains to be exact! What a great opportunity to see an actual brain and have a hands on experience while doing so.

Spring Orchestra Concert
With all the changes and challenges we have experienced this year, the opportunity to attend an  orchestra concert felt like a return to a more normal time. Almost... This year’s concert was held at LNHS in the courtyard in conjunction with the LNHS orchestra students and had a special guest in Assistant Principal Rosado as he narrated by reading poetry between the Beethoven pieces (Mr. Rosado can be seen reading in the center of the top picture just below).

This performance was the last one for our 8th grade students, most of whom had been in the orchestra program since 6th grade. Many of these amazing musicians will go on to be a part of the Lion Orchestra at the high school. Outstanding job, Knights!
Teacher Shout Outs
Mrs. Colon-
*She showed me discipline and helped me raise my grade up and she is an awesome teacher

*Mrs. Colon is a very understanding teacher, and by that I mean that she is helpful and if you are going through any personal hardships she will talk to you and help you through them. I have had her 3 years in a row and she has never changed or acted irresponsibly due to other students actions. I believe we should have more teachers like her for the common good of all students.

Coach Stoeckigt-
*Coach Stoeckigt is very fun, she always tries her best to make face to face students and online students feel included and sometimes makes work out videos for the students before school.

*She gives us different exercises every day to make PE fun.

*Because she does lots of hard work managing us and LaunchED.

Ms. Durant-
*Ms. Durant is the kind of teacher to leave a positive impact on every single one of her students. Her class allows me to enjoy learning the specific dynamics of photography. Ms. Durant's classroom is always filled with positive energy and smiling students. Not only does she care about our academic growth, but our growth and journeys as people as well.

*She works very hard. She teaches a huge class in person and LaunchEd and she is a very good influence, she helps every students every day. She is also very kind and understanding and doesn't mind when I ask a question every 3 minutes.

*She is amazing. She is so nice to the students, she relates to them, she understands us, she laughs with us and makes us want to go to her class. She's the best teacher at the school.

Monday's Motivational Moment!

For everyone one of us that succeeds, it's because there is somebody there to show you the way out. The light doesn't always necessarily have to be in your family; for me it was teachers and school.
~ Oprah Winfrey, author, philanthropist

Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which fulfilled can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation. One person can make a difference and everyone should try.
~ John F. Kennedy, 35th president

The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson, essayist

Every time you stop a school, you will have to build a jail. What you gain at one end you lose at the other. It's like feeding a dog on his own tail. It won't fatten the dog.
~ Mark Twain, author
Prepare to make this a successful week Knights!
