In seemingly the blink of an eye, another month of 2019 gets ready to close and a new month gets ready to open. I hope this week will find your October off to a terrific start.

We have mentioned our upcoming SAC meeting further below, but I would like to underscore this item again here and the importance of getting community support at these monthly meetings. The School Advisory Council is comprised of both staff and community members. They gather at our monthly meetings where we discuss progress against the annual School Improvement Plan as well as larger school-wide topics that are very important to our success. If you are part of our Lake Nona school community, please try to attend this Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. meeting. Your input would be most appreciated.

Congratulations are due both to our boys and girls soccer teams as they will be competing in the county-wide soccer playoffs (below)! Our boys team plays away on Monday while the girls will play on our field at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Please come on out and cheer on the Knights!

I hope you enjoy this week's update and, as always, thank you very much for your continued support!

With Knight Pride,

Stephanie R. Jackson, M. Ed.
Principal
Lake Nona Middle School

Lake Nona Middle School recognizes the value of our staff, students, and community members as an extra set of eyes and ears and asks for your help in identifying possible safety or security concerns. If you see something or hear of something suspicious, please say something. Be aware. Be responsible. Thank you!

Knight Open House

Thank You for Your Participation!
From our whole team at LNMS we thank you for attending our school Open House. We enjoyed meeting all our parents, family members and children and having the opportunity to share the learning that goes on in the classroom. We hope that it was informative, as well as fun for you. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with our community to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.

Partner in Education - Jimmy Rojas of Appreciation Financial
We want to give a big shout out and much appreciation to Jimmie Rojas from Appreciation Financial for providing dinner for our LNMS staff during Open House night. Along with meals, he was here to educate teachers and staff with information towards their retirement goals. Here is his booking link for those that would like to schedule Retirement Reviews at any time.

Knight Soccer
Both our boys and girls soccer teams will be advancing to playoffs!

Our ladies suffered their first loss of the season, but definitely put on a fight and gave the undefeated Eagles their most competitive game of the regular season. They finished second in the division and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments.

Our gentlemen continue to make a statement as they defeated Hunter's Creek on Wednesday with a final score of 4-0. Javier Ortega and Andy Rojas had one goal a piece. Two outstanding goals that could have easily made ESPN's top 10 highlights came from 8th grader Pedro Nunez. Our gentlemen continue to play tremendous team ball, getting better every day and game. They are an extremely fun team to watch!

Our Knights will now be County contestants with a great chance of winning the County Championship. Please wish our athletes and coaches the best of luck as they continue our winning tradition of advancing to playoffs.

Boys play their first playoff game on Monday at 5:30pm at Corner Lake. The ladies have a bye Monday and will play at home Wednesday versus Timber Springs starting at 5:00pm.

Did You Know?
